Philip Bacher

Biography
Philip works with public and private clients in building effective boards and management teams and advises on governance effectiveness and leadership matters, succession planning, and strategy. He works across industries with a spike on tech and industrial companies as well as financial and business services. Functionally, he also focuses on corporate governance and affairs, legal, risk and compliance, as well as finance and other corporate function challenges. Recent work has included board effectiveness assignments for a major European bank and a leading automotive supplier, a CEO succession for a private technology corporation, as well as a General Counsel placement for private equity backed MedTech group in IPO preparation. He is a member of the firm’s Board and CEO Advisory Partners in Europe. Philip joined RRA from the private equity industry where he was a partner and board member. Prior to that, he had worked as a strategy consultant and interim director for over ten years at AlixPartners and McKinsey & Company focusing on governance, business transformation, value creation and ESG. Prior to this, he was as an associate partner in the corporate law firm Gleiss Lutz. His client base stretched from multinational corporates and financial institutions to mid-market champions held or being built by private capital. Besides, he has been active as expert author and conference speaker in particular on topics of governance and transformation, passionate about the strategic business challenges for the day after tomorrow and the leadership required to address them effectively. Philip holds a PhD and a Maîtrise in law as well as a Master’s degree in business management from the universities in Munich and Paris/Assas. He is a registered lawyer at the bar in Munich.
