Carl has been married for the past 20 years and resides in Murfreesboro, TN with his wife, Susan and their two children, Brandon (High School) and Cecelia (Middle School). Together, they enjoy volunteering and family time. Carl has a lot of hobbies which includes woodworking, pen making, fishing, photography, graphic and web design. Carl earned his BFA in Environmental Design from East Carolina University. He went on to earn his MBA from Salem International University School of Business. In 1994, Carl started his career in the convenience store industry as store manager. He progressively took on more responsibility and, over his career, moved into director level a position. He has led multiple departments including Merchandising, New Store Startup, Construction/ Maintenance, Business Development, Loss Prevention as well as field operations as a Division Manager. He has also led multiple field teams within the Medium and Big-Box industries. Carl is also the founder of The James Group, a consulting and design firm. The consulting branch focuses on branding, training and facilitating services while the design branch focuses on logo, web and writing pen design. Carl previously served on the Board of Directors for Boy Scouts Of America, Habitat For Humanity and Additech. While serving on the Board for Boy Scouts Of America, he and his wife served as Cub Masters. Currently, he continues to volunteer his time to support Habitat For Humanity and foster care through the Department of Children’s Services. Throughout his career, Carl has been able to succeed through recruiting talent, understanding the business needs and cultivating a culture of servant leadership. These are all the qualities that will foster his continued success with our company and our clients.
