John Hunewill, Partner in the Houston office, brings three decades of experience across a range of sectors in the corporate world. John has held various executive roles driving strategic planning and marketing functions where he helped several national brands improve brand positioning, led the creative and advertising functions while building world class teams. Prior to joining Allen Austin, John was the Chief Marketing Officer for Chair King Backyard Store, the Nation’s largest specialty outdoor furniture retailer. John has a keen eye for talent development, organizational design and strategic planning and he brings these skill sets to his clients to help them achieve their growth plans. John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Syracuse University, as well as a Master of Science degree in Biology from New York University. John grew up in a suburb of Boston before starting his career in New York city. He relocated to Texas for work in 2009 and currently calls Katy, TX his home. John has worked hard to make a lasting impact on the local community and has served as an advisor to the Houston YMCA and spent two years as the Chairman of the Retailing and Consumer Science Advisory Board for the University of Houston starting in 2019. He currently serves as the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Houston Advisory Council Chairman.
