Over the past 27 years, Peter has led, owned and developed genuinely global search practices, working primarily for blue chip multinational clients. He has personally conducted in situ more than 260 retained mandates, in over 60 countries. After education in his native Zimbabwe, Peter began his career in the South African coal division of Anglo American Corporation. His professional business life then encompassed senior management and leadership positions in the finance, trading, transportation and logistics industries – based at various stages in Africa, London, Switzerland and New York. Peter has earned a reputation for executing particularly ‘difficult’ searches in both mature and frontier markets. He is open, passionate and committed to delivering creative, elegant solutions to client needs, no matter how testing the challenge. In the early 1990s, Peter was a ‘pioneer’ in proving to clients that world class ‘locals’ existed for senior leadership roles across the globe, thereby reducing the need for expatriation from home base other than for ‘career development’ assignments. He was also an early champion of women in senior management and the board of multinational companies. Peter’s sporting love is horses – he is an ardent supporter of high-goal polo, wherever in the world it is being played. His dream is one day to be patron of his own polo team. In addition, Peter is dedicated to making a meaningful contribution towards alleviating poverty and providing improved quality of life for those less fortunate than himself, especially in Africa.
