Biography
Both the construction industry and the consumer goods sector are characterized by intense and increasingly international competition. Products are becoming more and more similar, and significant production cost advantages are becoming increasingly difficult to achieve due to the growing share of external suppliers and the complexity of international sourcing. To succeed in this globalized and competitive environment, companies must create additional unique selling propositions (e.g., through services) beyond the product itself. This requires an understanding of customer needs, creativity, the courage to adapt, and the ability to implement solutions effectively. In my more than 20-year career, I've learned that looking beyond the confines of one's own industry is not only helpful but often initiates transformation processes. "Thinking outside the box," the willingness to think across sectors and transfer best practices, has also shaped my own career path. I've worked for many years as an executive in various roles, including sales and product marketing, as well as managing director, in diverse companies and industries in Germany, the Netherlands, South America, and the USA – from a global player in consumer goods to a traditional European SME in the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning (PHVAC) sector, and even a social media-driven e-commerce startup. Whether in large corporations or small startups, filling key positions with the right people can make a crucial difference! From my own experience, I know what a managing director needs to successfully lead, for example, the international expansion of a medium-sized German building materials supplier. I find the leaders for you who possess the emotional intelligence to preserve what has proven successful and, where necessary, develop it further with new ideas and initiate change. These are individuals who are not only good at their jobs but also sensitive in their dealings with people, company values, and cultures. This aspect, in particular, motivated me to complete training as a systemic coach in addition to my business administration studies, which I now bring to the personnel consulting business at GET AHEAD, along with my experience and industry expertise.
