James joined Eric Salmon & Partners in 2017 and focuses on executive search and leadership advisory across the consumer services sectors, with a particular interest and expertise in retail financial services. His client portfolio includes large PLCs through to mid-cap and smaller private equity backed enterprises with strong marketing, data, analytics and customer centric business models. Over his career, James has gained experience across the US, Europe, Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. Prior to joining Eric Salmon & Partners, he worked for a global financial services boutique. He was a member of the executive management team managing the commercial and operational aspects of the business whilst also running retail financial services, technology, corporate officers functions and interim. Previously, James bought and subsequently sold Wrightson Wood, a retail financial services focussed executive search firm that he ran between 2002 and 2013. He joined this business from Korn/Ferry International where, as a Partner of the firm, he managed the UK research teams and conducted mandates across financial and professional services whilst helping to launch the e-commerce team across Europe. James is a graduate of architecture, a governor of an independent preparatory school, a trustee of an endowment fund and a junior level rugby coach.
