I also notice that candidates appreciate being able to contact me outside office hours and the flexibility of my schedule. Transparency with clients is vital to me, not only about the process but also about the rates. Honesty is the best policy and clients appreciate recruiters who are up front with them and provide regular progress updates. Often, clients also need a sparring partner who is well-acquainted with the interim labour market and can provide reliable advice. I almost always manage to give that advice and deliver what I promise.
