Jonathan Scott is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ London office and a member of the global Energy and CEO & Board of Directors practices. He operates between the London, Houston, Dubai, and Calgary offices. With over 20 years of experience in executive search, Jonathan has built a specialist network across the global oil and gas, petrochemicals, and new-energy markets, with a focus on physical assets across refining, marketing, trading & supply, retail, and logistics. He specializes in sourcing both commercial leadership and senior operational executives for oil & gas operators, distributors, petrochemical manufacturers, trading houses, refiners, and other related sectors, including commodity trading and asset management, technology, consulting, distribution, shipping, pipelines, private equity, and E&P. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Jonathan built a boutique practice as managing director across six operating countries and, more recently, as managing partner of an award-winning specialist international boutique in the mid and downstream energy and commodities trading sectors. Previously, Jonathan was managing director of an international procurement services and logistics business that supplies the EMEA energy sector. Earlier in his career, he worked at ENI, the Italian oil supermajor, where he led talent acquisition for both E&P and downstream and managed projects across multiple countries. A truly global executive, Jonathan has opened offices, facilities, and joint ventures in locations including Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Russia, Monaco, Italy, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Angola, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Pakistan, and Indonesia. Jonathan is a non-executive director of a Houston-based energy technology company and a member of the Energy Institute.
