Peter Flint has been leading the growing cannabis practice at JM Search since 2016. The firm was the first and today the most experienced exclusively retained executive search firm in North America to specialize in the Cannabis Industry. With deep experience as an investor, operating executive, and recruiter, Peter brings unique perspectives to executive search. Peter’s focus is on recruiting CEOs and C-Suite executives into the dynamically evolving cannabis industry. Peter joined JM Search as a partner in 2015 following 11 years as a general partner with Polaris Partners, a venture capital firm. He invested in Software-as-a-Service and consumer internet companies, and led the executive recruiting team that advised CEOs on hires and talent retention. He continues to serve as a board member of Jibe, a Polaris portfolio company. Peter’s first tenure as Managing Director in executive search was with Ramsey Beirne Associates, which focused on high-growth, venture-backed internet companies. For the first 15 years of his career, Peter was a successful sales and marketing executive in the cable television industry, holding leadership roles for the launch and scaling of QVC and New England Sports Network (NESN), in addition to leadership roles with Showtime Entertainment, and MTV Networks. Drawing on his operational, investment and executive search experience, Peter brings a consultative approach to every search, aligning a company’s business goals and culture with each well-suited leader he recruits. CEOs and boards look to Peter as a trusted advisor who can help recruit and assess leadership teams that enhance organizational effectiveness and drive shareholder value. When he is not serving clients, Peter enjoys spending time with his family on the Chesapeake, playing tennis and guitar. He graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in Government.
