Hsiao J. Chiu was born in Germany and is of Chinese descent. In 2004, Hsiao moved to China and has since worked as a senior consultant and director in executive search companies. Today he is Managing Partner of JP contagi Shanghai, formerly JP International Search Consultants Co., Ltd. His customers come primarily from the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, electronics, the processing industry and from the FMCG sector and come from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Hsiao is valued by his clients for his thorough understanding of their needs and his innate understanding of the key differences between Chinese and Western cultures and mentalities. Hsiao holds a Masters in East Asian Studies and Business Management from the East Asian Institute at Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his mother tongue German, he speaks fluent Mandarin (Zhejiang dialect) and English. Hsiao lives with his partner in Shanghai and, as a passionate Fortuna Düsseldorf fan, is committed to establishing and expanding a corresponding fan community in China.
