James is a Director at Carlyle Kingswood Global and leads our Financial Services Legal and Compliance functions. James recruits at all levels across all legal disciplines and areas of compliance within wholesale banking, investment management, insurance, retail banking, fintech, hedge funds and other financials. James’ particular specialism is in the recruitment of senior Legal & Compliance staff including Legal Directors, General Counsel and Heads of Compliance. James previously established the legal function for an international legal and compliance recruitment company and spent nearly a decade running his own legal and compliance recruitment business; Gibson Limburn Search. He has also worked on front-office and non-legal roles requiring legally qualified candidates as well as Partner level private practice mandates within international law firms’ specialised finance functions. Prior to Legal & Compliance recruitment, James qualified as a Barrister and gained experience in private practice, in-house and in the public sector. James is (probably) being the only recruitment consultant in the world to both race light hovercraft and play the highland bagpipes (not usually simultaneously!).
