Biography
Meike Beeren (1971) graduated in 1995 from TU Delft, Faculty of Architecture. According to her, every building should be designed with the ambition level of 'eternal value'. In her own opinion, she lacked the talent like that of one of her favorite examples: Frank Lloyd Wright. The American architect who was mainly inspired by geometry, nature and Japanese architecture. She therefore decided to study business administration at Nyenrode Business University to broaden her postgraduate studies. After traveling through Asia, Australia and New Zealand, she started at Ahold Vastgoed in 1996. To start working three and a half years later in various commercial positions within the Ahold operating companies Gall&Gall and Etos (Pharmacy). With her experience in real estate, business development and retail, she decided at the end of 2005 to start working on the establishment of Marqt together with Quirijn Bolle. To demonstrate that a food marketplace for only 'good' products, as a connecting link between consumer and producer, is also financially sustainable.
