I grew up in Yorkshire in the UK and after completing my studies in Law I moved to Japan to teach English. After moving to New Zealand in 2015, a good friend advised me that he had started in recruitment and that he felt it would really suit my personality when it comes to helping people and building and maintaining relationships. I applied for my first role and have never looked back. My favourite memory in recruitment has to be my first placement. It was with a client who I still work with to this day and the candidate was new to New Zealand and was just elated that we had found him the perfect role. There is no better feeling. A top tip from me would be to remember to always stay in touch with people. It shows people that you really do care as a human being rather than a transactional relationship and who knows, they could become a hiring manager one day.
