Biography
Erich Mayer is Managing Partner of MSU INTERIM GmbH. His broad professional experience falls into three main areas: management consulting, including more than twelve years in interim management, corporate finance, and the aviation industry.
After completing his studies in aerospace engineering, Erich Mayer began his professional career at what was then MBB GmbH, now Airbus. There, he initially worked as a flight test clerk for the MRCA Tornado, followed by participation in aerodynamic tests on Tornado models in the supersonic wind tunnel.
After two years, Erich Mayer moved to Dornier GmbH, where, among other things, he conducted design studies for a new supersonic combat aircraft, partly in collaboration with US partner Northrop Corp. Later, he assumed the position of Project Control Manager for the civil aircraft model Dornier 328.
In 1982, Erich Mayer joined ATKearney GmbH, Düsseldorf. As a consultant, he conducted consulting projects in the areas of overhead reduction, corporate organization, logistics, and technical management, the latter with a focus on supply chain optimization and reducing product variant diversity.
This was followed by 15 years in corporate finance, eight of which as a partner at TVM, now TVM Capital, Munich, and seven as co-founder and managing partner of IMH Venture GmbH, Berlin. Erich Mayer covered the entire investment cycle, from the acquisition of investment opportunities through due diligence, contract negotiations and support to the sale of investments. At IMH Venture, his team focused on life sciences deals.
In 2010, Erich Mayer began his career as an interim provider as a partner at a market-leading competitor. Since 2021, he has been Managing Partner of MSU INTERIM GmbH.
