Andy Grosso

Andy Grosso is a partner in the firm’s Private Equity practice, bringing more than two decades of experience partnering with venture capital and private equity-backed technology companies to build world-class go-to-market organizations.

Before joining Buffkin Baker, Andy founded Fortra Search, a boutique retained executive search firm focused exclusively on executive sales and revenue leadership. Prior to founding Fortra in 2013, he spent eight years as a Partner at Riviera Partners, where he led executive searches for venture capital and private equity-backed technology companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. At Fortra, Andy led executive searches for innovative technology companies including Postman, AppFolio, Granica, Workiva, Affirm, Groq, PayPal, Kipu Health, and ThreeFlow, helping clients build leadership teams capable of scaling revenue through periods of rapid growth. His work also earned the trust of venture capital and private equity-backed companies supported by firms including NEA, Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), Highland Capital Partners, and Next Frontier Capital. Across his search career, Andy has partnered with founders, boards, and investors to recruit Chief Revenue Officers, Vice Presidents of Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and other commercial leaders for companies ranging from early-stage startups to publicly traded enterprises.

Before entering executive search, Andy built a distinguished career in enterprise software sales and sales leadership. At Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), he ranked among the company’s top two percent of sales performers. At Kana Communications, he was the company’s top salesperson for three consecutive years before being promoted to Regional Director, where he led the company’s largest territory and generated more than $24 million in annual revenue.

Andy’s decade-plus experience carrying a quota, leading sales organizations, and selling complex enterprise software gives him an operator’s perspective on executive search.
