Luis F. Leon is a partner in the Tax Department of the Firm’s New York City Office and is the leader of the firm’s SPAC tax practice. He has more than 23 years of tax experience with specific expertise in federal, state and local corporate taxes. Mr. Leon assists clients with services involving accounting for income taxes, consolidated returns, tax controversy and cross border transactions. He works in numerous industries including financial services, professional firms, Hi-Tech among others. Prior to joining Marcum in 2018, Mr. Leon worked in the private sector as the AVP of Tax at a global professional services firm where he led the tax operations of the Americas. Mr. Leon also worked in “Big 4” public accounting firms for 6 years. His background includes tax consulting services for multi-national companies, audit resolutions and BPO operations in multiple countries in LATAM.
