Jeff Hark is a director in the Firm’s Financial Accounting and Advisory services (FAAS) practice. He has over 15 years of experience in both public accounting and private industry, including 13 years as an auditor. Mr. Hark’s experience includes providing external audit and business advisory services to public and private companies of all sizes across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Marcum, Mr. Hark was a Senior Manager at a specialized financial consulting firm where he supported clients with complex technical accounting matters, as well as served both public and private companies in interim management roles. His technical expertise has included revenue recognition, share-based compensation, business combinations, discontinued operations, equity method accounting, long-lived asset impairment and Investment Company accounting. Mr. Hark served clients in several interim controller roles, providing continuity and integrity for daily accounting, month-end close, and finance and business operations. He also assisted a biotechnology company through a restructuring and financial transformation program, including working closely with the financial planning and analysis team. Mr. Hark formerly served as a Senior Manager at a “Big 4” accounting firm in Boston, providing audit services to public and private clients in the asset and wealth management industry. He has extensive experience with SEC filings, including debt and equity offerings, quarterly and annual reporting and shelf registrations. In addition, Mr. Hark assisted his clients through the implementation of SOX 404, which included evaluating key internal controls over financial reporting and assessing such controls for design and operating effectiveness. Additionally, Mr. Hark spent three years in the national office, focusing on audit quality, developing industry guidance and performing internal inspections.
