John Spencer is the Managing Partner for LifeSci Search. He previously served as Senior Client Partner within Korn Ferry International’s Global Life Sciences Practice. He brings clients a unique understanding of business dynamics, medical/scientific technology and executive talent needs, drawn from nearly three decades in Life Sciences executive search, sales and marketing, and lab research. Mr. Spencer’s clientele spans venture capital and private equity firms, small- and mid-cap corporations, as well as large multinationals. He has deep knowledge and broad professional networks throughout this sector, in areas that include diagnostics, precision medicine, genomics/proteomics, life sciences tools, biotechnology and medical devices. Since 2000, Mr. Spencer has completed search assignments across a range of executive management functions including CEO, COO, CBO, CFO, President and the Board of Directors in addition to leadership functional positions in Sales and Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing, Research & Development, Clinical, Medical and Quality/Regulatory Affairs. Prior to entering executive search, Mr. Spencer held leadership commercial positions with Corning Life Sciences (NASDAQ:GLW) within their Drug Discovery and Genomics group, the Enterprise Life Sciences Software team at Sciquest.com (NASDAQ:SQST) in addition to work as a post-graduate Bench Researcher at the U.C. Davis Medical Center, and as a Pharmacokinetic Researcher at Arris Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Spencer received his B.S. in Physiology from the University of California at Davis. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
