Ulrich has specialized on advising clients in all segments of the life sciences and healthcare industries for a period of 20 years. This includes the segments of pharma/biotech, diagnostics, medtech, healthcare services, in- and outpatient healthcare providers, digital health, and consumer health. Besides working for international corporations he has built a strong focus on searching for portfolio firms of private equity companies.

Ulrich became part of AmropCivitas in July 2018 as a Managing Partner of Civitas International, the firm he had joined in 2005 as a Managing Director and Global Head Life Sciences/Healthcare. As a core member of Amrop's Global Life Sciences Practice, Ulrich closely collaborates with his international colleagues and can provide a global coverage of the relevant candidates.

Previously Ulrich worked as the Head of the German Healthcare Practices of Egon Zehnder International and Russell Reynolds Associates for a period of 10 years. Before that he was the CEO of Deutsche Klinik für Diagnostik GmbH, am acute care hospital belonging to the Rhön-Kliniken Group. He began his professional career as a Management Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in Munich, where he last held the position of a Principal of the Global Healthcare Practice.

Having completed studies of medicine as a licensed physician at the Universities of Bonn and Munich, obtaining the degree of a Medical Doctor and Ph.D., Ulrich went on to obtain his MBA at INSEAD/Fontainebleau. He keeps on collaborating closely with INSEAD and currently serves as a Vice President of the INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Network, which he co-founded in 2006.
