Ronald Burton Jr. is a director in the Tax & Business Services Department of the Firm’s Long Island office. Since his return to public accounting he has worked closely with mid-size and large, multistate and multi-national companies, as well as family-owned business. Mr. Burton provides tax consulting, planning, and financial statement disclosures, as well as tax compliance services to both public and privately held entities. He is proficient in the fields of manufacturing and distribution, entertainment, and construction, where Mr. Burton has focused on mergers & acquisitions, income tax provisions, tax compliance, and tax audits. For more than two decades, he has provided clients with tax planning strategies to help minimize their tax burdens and achieve their financial goals. Whether buying or selling a business, his focus is on maximizing future tax benefits while minimizing tax burden. Mr. Burton is a frequent lecturer, leading discussions on the latest tax pronouncements, including the recent Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, for clients and referral sources. Previous to Marcum, Mr. Burton spent a significant time working at in-house tax departments of Fortune 150 companies.
