In February 2020, Umair Safdar joined Signium as Managing Partner and is based in the Düsseldorf Office. He had a strong desire to align himself with a world-renowned brand in Executive Search. Prior to joining Signium, Umair recruited in the German market for 16 years for a boutique search firm, based out of London. Umair prides himself on delivering bespoke solutions to his Clients through a robust and efficient process, focussing heavily on emotional intelligence and culture matching. This approach has allowed him to build a sustainable client base across the Manufacturing and FMCG sectors, specializing in leadership positions across Supply Chain, Operations and Procurement. Umair is originally from the UK, of Kashmiri heritage, and holds a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Manchester. He began his career at Dow Chemical in Hamburg, working in their R&D facility, moving into the Executive Search industry in 2003. In 2018 he relocated to Düsseldorf with his young family. Outside of work he is a very keen golfer (HCP 5) and an avid Liverpool FC supporter.
