Mary Kay is Compensation Consulting Director at The Overture Group, LLC. With 30 years of compensation experience, she partners with clients to develop compensation strategies that maximize performance and rewards impact to the business while at the same time improving employee engagement. In her career she has found that the majority of the time compensation can facilitate correction of organizational problems. Mary Kay has extensive experience with both private and public companies in many industries, including: manufacturing, distribution, technology, services, banking, construction, not for profit and healthcare (in both domestic and global environments). She has managed 200+ client projects developing compensation schemes of all types and is especially strong in the areas of rewards strategy, executive compensation, benchmarking, short- and long-term incentives, job architecture, and global rewards. Prior to joining The Overture Group, Mary Kay held key Global Compensation Leader roles for several large employers (Littelfuse, Nokia / HERE Technologies, Comdisco and Novartis). In addition, she founded and ran her own rewards consulting practice for 11 years advising both private and public companies of all sizes. Mary Kay is a member of the Chicago Compensation Association, SHRM (Society of Human Resources), World at Work and World at Work’s Consultants Forum. She also mentors rewards professionals and HR graduate students with Loyola University’s Graduate School of Business and the Chicago Compensation Association. Mary Kay has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Loyola University of Chicago, a Master of Human Resources from Loyola University’s Graduate School of Business and a Leadership Certificate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She holds certifications from World at Work as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Global Remuneration Professional (GRP). She is married to her husband Dan (a CPA); has two grown children and enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking and staying fit.
