Bauke Wolters
Senior Consultant
Biography
My name is Bauke Wolters and I have been a Senior Consultant at Van de Groep & Olsthoorn since February 2012. After the Gymnasium in Groningen and a year at TH Twente, I went to study Electrical Engineering at the HTS, and graduated with a specialization in High Voltage Technology. Later, I did post-HBO Business Administration at the SWOT. In 1986, I started as a trainee at Holec (now Eaton), but after six months, at the age of 25 , I was sent to France to set up a transformer factory with my best school French. After 3 years, I returned to the Netherlands, and then I worked at an injection molder in Steenwijk, specialized in lids. Then 5 years near Berlin, where I set up an installation company (gas/water/sanitary) for a Dutch holding company, as Director. At that time, there was a major construction boom in the former East Germany. Back in the Netherlands, I went to work in Maarssen as BU Manager for a galvanizing plant, which is why I still live there. In 2000 I ended up in Recruitment & Selection, actually by chance. I have never regretted it! After 7 years at a large agency and one year at a small specialized agency, I worked for a few years as an independent interim, until I decided in 2012 to definitively opt for Recruitment & Selection. In terms of quality agencies specialized in Technology & Industry, the choice was actually limited to one agency: after a call with Gertjan from the Group it was quickly sealed. Since then I have tried to maintain myself here as a Groninger among the Westerners. I have been married to Kitty since 1987, with whom I have done all these wanderings. Our son Michel is married and unfortunately lives in the southernmost point of Germany. After 15 years as an active water polo player and then 20 years as a referee and trainer, I have recently hung up my cap. I now enjoy giving private lessons in mathematics and physics as a hobby.
