The son of a farmer, Dr. Clemens Schwerdtfeger – after studying and subsequently completing his doctorate in agricultural economic development in Göttingen and Vechta-Osnabrück – completed assignments abroad at the Agricultural Commission in Brussels and the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. From 1992 to 1997, he then worked as a consultant, personal assistant, and head of department to the Minister-President of Saxony-Anhalt. From 1998, he was responsible for human resources and organization within the operational management of a large, medium-sized, internationally operating trading company. Based on this activity, he founded Dr. Schwerdtfeger Personalberatung in 2002 to support successful and growing companies in the discreet and reliable recruitment of specialist experts and managers. In addition to managing the company, Dr. Schwerdtfeger is responsible for mandates at management and executive level. Dr. Clemens Schwerdtfeger is married and has three children. He is active in various economic and social committees and associations in the region (Chamber of Industry and Commerce committees, the Oldenburg Münsterland Agricultural and Nutrition Forum, the Emstek Civic Foundation, the Cloppenburg-Soeste Lions Club, the Wakkerstrom Friends' Association, etc.). He regularly gives lectures and seminars at agriculturally relevant colleges and universities and has previously held teaching positions in human resources management, including at the University of Göttingen.
