Prof. (FH) Dr. Markus W. Exler is one of the leading thinkers in the field of further development, promotion of the exchange of know-how and qualification in the field of restructuring and reorganization. He does not see the restructuring of companies as a flaw or a consequence of a crisis, but rather as a part of normal company development. As a partner of Quest Consulting AG, he advises managers and entrepreneurs on the challenges of selling companies and transformation processes. He is very happy to help shape the work of the BDU Association for Reorganization and Insolvency Consulting as a practitioner and scientific advisor. Since 2003 he has been a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein and is responsible for the Institute for Cross-Border Restructuring, which he founded. Regular guest professorships at universities in India, Dubai and Singapore with lectures on the topics of M&A and turnaround contribute to the further development of his scientific approaches. Markus Exler previously worked for MAC Mergers & Acquisitions-Consulting GmbH in Vienna and Interfinanz GmbH in Düsseldorf; one of his most exciting times was in the New York branch of what is now Hypo-Vereinsbank AG; he studied and received his doctorate from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg; he lives with passion at his two residences in Nuremberg and Kufstein, the latter in particular with the opportunity, as a former competitive athlete, to go skiing in the Kitzbühel Alps.
