Biography
Based in New York City, Ed Walters is a former venture capitalist and technology executive with experience in the technology, sustainability, healthcare, and real estate sectors. A member of the private capital and technology practices, Ed partners with funds and their portfolio companies to recruit investment leaders, senior fundraising professionals, value creation leaders, business development and capital markets professionals, operating partners, and advisors. Prior to Russell Reynolds, Ed cofounded two early-stage venture capital firms focused on technologies that improve and decarbonize the built environment, built and led all go-to-market functions on the executive team at Andreessen Horowitz-backed Mosaic, and worked at two global institutional investment firms. As a board member, investor, executive and advisor, he has guided companies through capital raises exceeding $150 million, recruiting key executive talent, setting strategy, and leading targeted M&A. Ed holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford, and a BA in English Literature from Trinity College. He is a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations, serves as Chairman of the Climate Collective, a climate technology innovation network, and is a venture partner at Overture, an early-stage venture fund investing in climate and sustainability.​
