Alex’s career in recruitment began in 1993 when he joined one of Europe’s most established fashion recruitment firms MWA to assist in the launch of a new Contracts division. In 1998 he founded Fusion Consulting and in 2009 he changed the name to Fusion Associates to reflect the new management structure of the business. Alex has opened & led our offices in New York, London, Stockholm, Berlin and Milan and travelled extensively throughout the USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia, networking as he went. In 2014 he spent two years living and working abroad whilst extending our international network in Portland, New York, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Porto, Lisbon, Ibiza, Valencia and Cape Town. Alex's own passion for outdoor pursuits (camping, backpacking and trekking) culminated in the growth of our outdoor & sportswear clients. Growing up in rural Spain I spent much of my childhood playing outside and exploring the local countryside. We lived near beautiful mountains and together with my father we visited them often. In my twenties my passion for the mountains continued and my first overseas adventure took me trekking to Nepal and the Himalayas and I was hooked. The following year I quit my job working for a London newspaper and spent six months back packing around South America polishing my Spanish. Much of my time was spent in the mountains including the Andes in Ecuador and Peru. Since then many of my holidays have been spent in or close to the mountains including Patagonia, the Rockies, the Alps, and the Pyrenees. My last big hike (a month before my daughter was born) was 7 days traversing Glacier National Park, Montana in the middle of July with a 30kg back pack, perhaps the hardest hike I’ve ever done! Needless to say protecting our Planet is close to my heart and since the arrival of my daughter i’ve become more compelled than ever to do my part in protecting it.
