With over 40 years of experience in technology development in the Automotive and heavy industries, Yuichi has a deep understanding of the structural changes in industry in the energy transition era. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Tokyo and is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan.​ He began his career in large marine engine development at Sumitomo Heavy Industries and then moved to Yamaha Motor where he worked with clients such as Toyota and Ford on major engine development projects. In the Motorcycle business, he was General Manager of the advanced development department.​ He then joined ROKI Co., Ltd, one of Japan's leading automotive filter manufacturers, where he served as CTO and Managing Executive Officer, leading the company's technology division. Through these business experiences, Yuichi has an understanding of diverse global cultures and a proven track record of collaborating with people from all walks of life to promote projects. ​
