Karen has over 20 years of recruiting and business operations experience with a variety of industries including technology, retail, finance, operations and manufacturing. She joined Herd Freed Hartz after seven years with Amazon’s internal executive search team where she led domestic and international searches across all businesses and functions, and helped build the team from an initial staff of four to over thirty executive search professionals worldwide. During her tenure, Amazon grew from 14,000 employees to over 100,000, and from $16b in annual revenue to over $75b.

Prior to Amazon, Karen worked for several boutique agencies in New York City focusing on retail, finance, legal and public relations recruitment. She began her career in Arizona, staffing manufacturing and operations roles across the state. Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Arizona University, and lives in Seattle and loves exploring the world through the eyes of her two children.
