Karsten Matthes studied education with a focus on human resources and psychology in Hamburg. At a young age he completed demanding leadership programs, first as part of his officer training and later at a leading global healthcare company. After his officer career, he started working for a global, owner-managed medium-sized company specializing in medical technology (Biotronik). As a member of the management board of the multinational healthcare company Sanofi, he was responsible for human resources in three countries, at nine locations for a total of more than 2,000 employees. He has been a management and HR consultant since 2013 and has been a partner in the consulting and executive search team at PAWLIK Consultants since 2019. He has also been managing director of PAWLIK Recruiters since 2023. He is characterized by outstanding industry knowledge - especially in pharmaceuticals, life sciences & healthcare -, profound consulting expertise and an extensive international network.
