Vijay Saraswat

Biography
Vijay has built expertise across a wide range of higher education searches since joining Isaacson, Miller in 2012. He has also played a key role in our firm's STEM practice, solving complex leadership placements such as the founding director of the Institute for Quantitative Health Sciences and Engineering at Michigan State University and the chair of the computer science department at the University of Chicago. Other searches include center directors, chairs, deans of sciences and engineering, vice presidents for research, and campus and system presidents. Prior to joining our firm, Vijay was an active-duty U.S. Marine in the intelligence field, earning an honorable discharge in 2009 following five years of service, including two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While subsequently attending Tufts University on the G.I. Bill, he researched and wrote about post-conflict political reconciliation and economic reconstruction in Iraq at the U.S. Army War College's Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute. Vijay is conversant in Arabic and has a boundless curiosity about, and passion for, the sciences and engineering. He serves as a board member of the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as a big brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay.
