Gerard is a Principal in our Hong Kong office and a leading legal and compliance recruiter who presently recruits legal and compliance professionals into in-house and private practice roles in Asia. Initially trained as an accountant in the United Kingdom, Gerard worked in a number of back and middle office roles (including compliance) in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Australia, before joining the recruitment industry in Hong Kong in 1999. Since then, Gerard has developed a strong track record of successfully undertaking both retained and contingency assignments in the private practice and in-house sectors across a number of Asian jurisdictions including recruiting Partners, General Counsels and Regional Heads of Compliance for international financial institutions, investment banks and law firms. Having lived in Asia for over 15 years, Gerard has developed both a strong knowledge of the intricacies involved in recruiting in diverse Asian markets and an excellent network of connections in the legal and compliance sectors across a number of countries (including Hong Kong, Singapore and China). This experience allows him to offer a specialist, professional and focused recruitment service to clients and candidates alike. In his current role, Gerard is responsible for developing the in-house practice in Hong Kong and the Greater China region.
