Maria Gollayan is a partner in the Managed Services – Accounting Department of the Firm’s Washington, DC office. Ms. Gollayan came to Marcum via the Firm’s merger with Raffa, P.C., one of the nation’s preeminent public accounting and business consulting firms, specializing in nonprofits. Ms. Gollayan has more than 20 years of public accounting experience and joined the nonprofit specialty group in 2007. Overseeing a team of professionals specializing in nonprofit management, Ms. Gollayan provides a full range of consulting services, including financial operations assessments developing charts of accounts; internal controls and reporting tools; implementing new accounting systems; documentation of policies and procedures; program and organizational budgets; and monitoring for compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. Ms. Gollayan has served as chief financial officer for a small international nonprofit. Having worked with a variety of accounting software packages, she is skilled at reorganizing and optimizing accounting systems.
