Alfonso has a long professional career as an Organizational and Human Resources Consultant and as an Entrepreneur. He began his professional career as a professor and researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 1988, he joined Arthur Andersen (now Accenture), where he managed large-scale projects. In 1997, he became Managing Director of Watson Wyatt Worldwide, managing all business units in Spain. In 2003, he founded PeopleMatters, a management resources consulting firm, and in February 2020, he led its succession. Since July 2020, he has been a member of the Advisory Board of Atrevía, the leading Spanish communications agency. He is a member of various business and professional associations such as the APD, the Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores, and is currently a member of the National Board of Directors of the AED (Spanish Association of Directors) and a member of its Remuneration and Nominations Committee. He also has an intense academic activity as a professor in several universities and Business Schools (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, IE Business School, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Centro de Estudios Garrigues, Euroforum, APD, SHRM, Sagardoy Business School, etc.). He recently founded Recruiting Erasmus , a digital platform for young talent. He has written several books in his fields of expertise and regularly contributes to business and thematic media.
