Biography
Jim Prince joined Spelman Johnson with over three decades of comprehensive experience in financial and business leadership within the higher education sector. He established a distinguished career marked by strategic vision, financial acumen, and transformative institutional development.
Jim served as the Vice President for Finance & Business/Treasurer at The College of Wooster. In this pivotal role, he oversaw an expansive $85 million budget and provided instrumental support to senior management. His leadership was instrumental in retaining Moody’s A1 rating for the College, spearheading a 10-year facilities master planning process, and directing the financial aspects of a $40 million student center project.
Prior to joining The College of Wooster, Jim held a similar leadership position at Kalamazoo College in Michigan for a decade. There, he managed a budget of approximately $46 million and played a crucial role in successful bond refinancing and the development of the College’s facilities master plan. His adept negotiation skills helped to secure funding for a significant athletic fields project.
