Biography
Caroline Goedvolk (1975) graduated in 2001 from the Law Faculty of Leiden University. Immediately after her studies, Caroline started working as a candidate civil-law notary at Pels Rijcken & Drooglever Fortuyn, lawyers and civil-law notaries in The Hague. Within the Real Estate and Corporate Law departments, she advised leading clients, including public bodies and companies, and was involved in a number of high-profile public tenders in the Netherlands. After four years, Caroline transferred to BarentsKrans, a law firm in The Hague, where she worked as a junior civil-law notary within the Corporate Law section. There she further specialized in advising companies in the field of real estate and corporate law and in that role was involved in extensive (re)structuring and real estate transactions. After seven years working in the notarial profession, Caroline decided to make the transition to the business world. As Senior Legal Counsel of successively ING Real Estate Investment Management and its legal successor CBRE Global Investors, she has advised numerous European real estate funds since 2009. In this role, she also successfully put her experience in the field of real estate and corporate law into practice here and built further to her – then already – extensive network.
Caroline has a positive attitude to life, is involved and is a solid conversation partner at every level. Making contact and making connections is second nature to her. This, together with her legal background and work experience, gained outside executive search, will contribute to the élan of TEN. It offers – as she herself says – new insights from a different angle and a reinforcement of the now solid foundation of TEN. Caroline's motivation is to encourage others and to do what they are good at. It is important to bring intrinsic motivation and motives to the fore. This is based on our own experience, that the correct linking of motivation and ambition leads to 'outperformance' of both the individual and the organization.
