Julian leads the General Counsel (GC) and Governance Practice. Julian works across sectors. He has considerable experience in hiring GCs and other senior legal roles in-house. Having developed functional expertise across all aspects of the Governance field, Julian also hires lead roles across Company Secretarial and Internal Audit. He has also developed the practice in Financial Services, with a particular emphasis on Risk and Compliance, as institutions face increased governance and regulatory pressures. He works with clients on talent acquisition, benchmarking and succession planning. Julian also works in the insurance sector as it evolves through corporate activity and consolidation and faces change through an increasingly complex regulatory regime and development of technology. This presents challenges and opportunities for businesses in the insurance sector and their clients, our practice is focused on serving firms in the insurance market and businesses that support the sector. Prior to joining Stonehaven in 2017, Julian worked at Norman Broadbent where he built the Governance practice focused on GCs, Company Secretaries, Compliance and Risk. His early career was in a boutique search firm where he gained experience working across Legal and Governance for listed and private businesses, for Law Firms and Big Four Consulting Firms.
