Chris Langhoff is a Managing Director and senior member of the Financial Officers Practice at ZRG. He brings a unique perspective to the recruitment of financial officers as he has "sat in the chair," having been a CFO and financial officer for a Fortune 200 company. Chris has been a client, candidate, and search professional; with over 30 years of experience as a practicing financial officer and a recruiter of CFOs, he understands the role for which he is recruiting and can communicate effectively with both candidates and clients. Prior to joining ZRG, Chris founded and developed The Financial Officer Practice, a boutique search firm solely focused on the recruitment of financial officers. Earlier, he served as CHRO for a real estate investment firm, a partner at Russell Reynolds Associates, and CFO for a private equity portfolio company in addition to spending over 15 years in finance with PepsiCo and Goldman Sachs, & Co. He has raised more than $10B in debt, helped successfully execute an IPO, managed risk with derivatives, presented to investors on roadshows and quarterly calls, run both strategic and annual operating plans, and closed the books. Having risen in finance to the CFO level, Chris utilizes his background to focus solely on the recruitment of CFOs and their direct reports. In the past 15 years, he has recruited over 200 financial officers in a variety of industries and business models. While he has worked with many Fortune 500 companies, he has significant experience recruiting portfolio company CFOs for private equity clients. Chris received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Vassar College. Chris enjoys playing competitive golf and is currently training for his first Ironman. He is a loyal sports fan who has suffered through many losing seasons supporting his NFL and NBA teams. He also enjoys travel, and in particular, the opportunity to spend time with his five children.
