Biography
Arjen has more than 25 years of experience in strategy, organization, marketing, sales and manufacturing in the chemical industry, with solid understanding of financials. Prior to joining the firm, Arjen served as Director at a leading restructuring firm. Formerly he was with AkzoNobel, where he led two major integrations (Schramm Coatings in 2011 and BASF Industrial Coatings in 2016) and managed a substantial global business. After guiding one of the key business area through defining a new strategy, Arjen led the transformation process towards a leaner, more customer-centric organization. While at AkzoNobel, he was also responsible for the design and implementation of a more effective Sales Incentives program for 4,600 customer-facing people, to drive additional growth. Before AkzoNobel, he spent seven years in consulting with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. His projects covering the full chemicals value chain from natural gas and oil refining to food ingredients and coatings. Arjen managed multiple strategy, M&A and PMI projects for private equity and industrial clients in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Earlier in his career, he was a global petrochemical trader for Tricon Energy, based in London and Shanghai. Arjen started his career at DSM in The Netherlands and USA, where he also worked for two years as a recruitment manager for young professionals. Throughout his career, Arjen lived in Houston, London, Shanghai, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. He currently resides in Zurich. He holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Delft Technical University in The Netherlands.
