Charles Mehler is the Managing Director of the Ft. Lauderdale Office. A self-described “Geek who speaks accounting” or “Accountant who speaks geek” Charles was involved in implementing some of the early Accounting systems developed for Microcomputers (PC’s). Accounting didn’t speak to IT and IT didn’t talk to accounting, Charles saw the opportunity to bridge the gap. Charles founded, built and then sold two technology startups in the West Palm Beach Florida Area. Subsequently Charles has been a public company CFO twice and then went on to consult for venture capital Law firms and private equity firms, doing M&A, due diligence, Integrations and Divestitures, both domestically and internationally. While on engagements it was often necessary to rapidly evaluate and make recommendations about the Accounting and Finance capabilities of the business units. Charles leveraged this background of evaluating and selecting hands-on accounting and finance skills to become the Division Director of the consulting practice for a Fortune 500 specialized staffing firm. While there he pushed the practice towards the higher end of true Management Consulting, bringing strategic value to large and small clients. Charles Joined Ascendo early in 2012 and has brought Ascendo’s local presence to Palm Beach County. He has been working with Ascendo’s clients and candidates throughout South Florida matching permanent and project opportunities with exceptional Accounting and Finance Talent. Charles IT background and experience has proved valuable as more organizations seek to implement and upgrade their ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and BI (Business Intelligence) systems to enhance operations, decision support and reporting capabilities.
