Debbie is Group CEO of Jack Hammer, a global group of executive search, talent advisory and coaching companies. These include: Jack Hammer Africa (Africa’s largest executive search boutique), Jack Hammer USA (which focuses on disruptive and emerging industries), Virtual Coaching Partners (an online leadership coaching platform) and hiresmiths (a talent consulting firm). For the last 20 years, Debbie has been advising boards, VC and PE funds, and their portfolio companies, helping them make high quality people and business decisions. She also coaches founder-CEOs who have received seed, series A and B funding, to deliver successful performance as their companies scale and grow. Her newest initiatives include board advisory support to Rebel Girls (a global multi-platform girl-driven edutainment company), a diversity study with contributors from Harvard Business School, and an international peer learning program for social entrepreneurs with Summit Series. She describes herself as a reluctant writer, who procrastinates horribly! Her first book (on team culture), “IntheFlow – Taking Mindfulness to Work”, was listed in the ‘Top 10 Best’ South African business books. Her next one, “The Living Room Leader: Lead, Hire and Engage Great Teams, during Covid and beyond”, will be published in 2021. Just a few more chapters to write… Debbie is a serial entrepreneur, with a somewhat unconventional background: In her ‘first’ career, she was an award-winning contemporary dancer and choreographer…whilst completing her law degree!
