John is originally from Manchester, England. He graduated in Town Planning in 1996 and fell into an Engineering Recruitment job straight out of university. After 3 years recruiting Building Services Engineers to the Middle East and Asia markets he was offered a job and relocated to Sydney. He quickly identified a lack of Australian recruitment companies servicing the Middle East markets and established ACRWORLD (or as it was called back then, AustCorp Recruitment). John has successfully sourced senior expat talent across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia markets. John has managed major international recruitment drives. He has a track record of successfully sourcing project leadership individuals/teams for some of the world’s largest projects. His placements have had a significant, positive impact on the employer’s profitability and business growth. The average time John’s placements have lasted with their employer is 3.4 years. He puts this down to a consultative process ensuring the right long term match. Today he manages the strategic growth and operations of the business and supports the staff across the business. While he has been working in recruitment for over 20 years he has been surfing for almost as long. He is a far better recruiter than surfer and consistently blames the lack of swell in the canals in the North of England during his early years for this.
