As part of our Mining team, Jon specialises in recruitment across geology, exploration and technical services specialisms. This includes entry level mine site geologists, technical service personnel right through to corporate level: General Managers and CEOs. Jon is a global recruiter, with expertise not limited to big global mining hubs. His roles cover the areas of planning, geotechnical, technical services, resource geology and corporate level. As well as working with some of the leading global brands in North America, Canada, Peru and Chile, Jon has provided recruitment solutions for businesses in Mali, Eritrea, Macedonia and Greece, to name but a few. In fact, CSG’s global mining team has operated in 55 countries, providing in-depth industry talent solutions to mining businesses across the world. Jon partners with small, mid-tier and multinational businesses on a bespoke basis, gathering a comprehensive understanding of not only clients’ technical requirements but also their culture, how their businesses operate and all factors influencing their growth. This enables him to present detailed career development opportunities to his candidates, ensuring a more holistic approach to securing the right candidates. Having previously worked in the mining industry before joining CSG in 2013, Jon has cultivated a global network of technical and commercial experts within mining. He was instrumental in developing the mining offering at CSG in Australia and laying the foundations for a team which has grown to become one of CSG’s most successful. Jon’s detail-oriented recruitment process and in-depth candidate and client knowledge has propelled him to operating at a senior level within the CSG Australian business. Jon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Swansea University and furthered his studies at university with a master’s in Abnormal Psychology and Psychopathology. After working within the mining industry in a marketing role, he began his recruitment career in 2012. Since then, Jon has placed emphasis on developing relationships with candidates and clients at all levels, understanding detailed talent sourcing processes and gaining trust through working in partnership with them. Jon has written several thought provoking content pieces which have been well-received in his market, elevating his position as a global mining expert.
