R. Coalter Powers uses his 20 years of experience leading successful search and placement operations across North America to help clients find the right talent solutions to drive their businesses forward. Coalter has deep knowledge in the biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, technology and professional services sectors. He partners with early stage, Private Equity and VC backed companies on C-suite and key leadership engagements. His functional areas of expertise include finance/accounting, operations, corporate strategy, human resources, sales and marketing. Having been in a variety of strategic planning, sales, and business development leadership roles throughout his career, Coalter expertly guides clients through identifying their key leadership needs and navigating the hiring process. He has a proven track record of completing both retained and contingent searches. Prior to joining Townsend Search Group, Coalter held various roles including Senior Managing Director at a top 5 executive search firm and Director of Permanent Placement for one of the world’s largest professional staffing organizations. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing. Coalter lives in Greater Detroit, Michigan along with his wife, two children, and trusty English Golden Retriever.
