With over 17 years experience in the maritime industry, Rory has worked in a diverse range of sectors in the industry. His recent professional activity included the provision of advice on maritime policy to the Irish government and the provision of specialist maritime taxation advice to government representatives in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. He was closely involved in development of legislation for the introduction of the Irish tonnage tax, as well as supervising the development of shipping finance schemes. Rory also provided support for companies looking to expand in Europe and invest in the Irish maritime sector. Prior to his involvement with the Irish government, Rory was a business developer for one of the world’s largest maritime risk and research companies. A graduate in economics and politics from the National University of Ireland (NUIG), Rory has a postgraduate diploma in business, also from NUIG, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University.
