Richard is also skilled in buying, selling, and structuring buyouts and startups using tax advantaged bonds, commercial paper offerings, common stock, bank debt, and leasebacks across multiple industries including manufacturing and healthcare.

During his career, Richard has centralized processes to reduce costs, negotiated licensing agreements, restructured employee benefit programs, and developed automated systems. As the manager of the commercial credit department and later as commercial lending officer of a large regional bank, Richard assessed the financial standing and growth potential of a wide range of businesses. He also served as finance director and treasurer of a publicly traded company as it grew from $750 million to $2.2 billion in sales.
