Ned Turney
Principal
Biography
A Principal with a focus on addressing leadership needs for clients in financial services and private equity, Ned brings nearly a decade of executive search experience to our team. Aside from his background in developing talent acquisition strategies and managing execution for positions from the VP-level to the C-suite, Ned boasts deep industry expertise within consumer and commercial banking and insurance—where he’s placed executives in a variety of technical functions, including analytics, finance, operations, and risk. Before joining Morgan Samuels, Ned spent three years in the Financial Services Practice at Korn Ferry. In the earliest days of his career, he partnered with private equity and completed searches for a range of industries while a generalist at Reilly Partners, a boutique executive search firm. Ned received his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and his BA in Sociology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he was a member of the varsity sailing team. Before entering executive search, he spent a year as an AmeriCorps Volunteer, teaching at a middle school for underserved boys in Hartford, Connecticut. Now a Chicago resident with his wife and dog-dad to their very good (very furry) boy, Archie, Ned spends most of his free time catching waves and taming the tide.
