Biography
Fabian Tan is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Singapore office and a member of the global Industrial and Financial Officers practices. He has extensive experience working with management teams and boards on executive search, leadership succession, and talent assessment and development projects. He covers the transportation & logistics, supply chain, manufacturing & operations, engineering, construction & infrastructure sectors in Asia Pacific, partnering with multi-national companies, private equity firms, and family-owned businesses on strategy and transformation. Previously, he was a member of the CEO & Board of Directors Practice based in the US, working closely with international energy and infrastructure clients. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Fabian was an asset broker with Maersk. He graduated as the top international trainee, and subsequently completed projects in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He specialised in newbuilding construction, distressed assets, long-term employment and financing mandates across the different asset classes. Notably, he was part of the AP Moller-Maersk newbuilding team driving in the construction of Maersk Line’s Triple-Es, the world’s largest container ships, and Maersk Drilling’s CJ-70s, which are ultra harsh environment jack rigs used for exploration and production. Fabian has broad international experience having worked in Singapore, Denmark, China, and the US. Earlier in his career, Fabian competed in Singapore’s professional football league for four years and represented the national under-23 team in regional tournaments. Education: Fabian earned a bachelor’s degree, with honours, in business administration (finance and management) from the National University of Singapore. He is certified in Hogan assessments as well as HR Management and Analytics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
