Karina Brito is an Associate Partner responsible for Life Sciences. With more than 20 years of experience in health care companies, Karina started her career at MSD where held different positions in development and implementation of clinical trials and regulatory affairs in Brazil. After almost 8 years at MSD she decided to make a move to Biotech companies starting by Genzyme. At the start she was dedicated to market access in Brazil and after 3 years she moved into market access and policy affairs for Latin America; covering Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, and Uruguay. She was able to leverage the experience on Orphan Drugs of USA, the EU, and Japan to the countries in Latin America, through their main stakeholders: government authorities, politicians, patient associations, key opinion leaders, and pharma associations. After that she developed and implemented the strategy for market access for Biomarin, Synageva, and most recently for Bioverativ. She also worked as a consultant in government affairs and market access for several different biotech startups. She is a Signium Brazil partner in charge of life sciences and health care. Since then she has worked in executive search for various segments in health care / life sciences, such as placing c-level executives for hospitals and health care providers. She is a pharmacist / biochemistry graduate from São Paulo University with a Master’s in marketing and health economics. She is a triathlete, having completed some Ironman races.
