Werner Laber

Werner Laber has been working for over 25 years in Corporate Finance, M&A and Business Development - particularly in "special situations" of companies – distressed situations, succession problems, strong growth, disruptive changes, etc. across Europe.

He has been co-founder of several successful high-tech start-ups, an Austrian Venture Capital company and investment vehicles. He has also been Managing Director, executive board and supervisory board member of several companies.

Since October 2013 he has been a Partner of Ward Howell International in Vienna, where he provides Leadership Consulting, focusing on solutions for challenging entrepreneurial and corporate situations.

His long-term experience as manager, entrepreneur, investor and advisor allows Werner to apply different approaches to any challenging situation, to provide rapid and goal-oriented analyses, to implement adequate solutions efficiently and to leverage synergetic team resources.

Werner's favorite challenge is the preparation of companies for their coming fundamental changes in business model due to the high impact of digitalization, as well as to support those companies management and owners in mastering these challenging phases.

Werner's industrial expertise includes manifold projects across Europe in production, automotive, software & mechatronics, trading, mechanical engineering and civil construction.

Werner graduated in mechanical engineering from a higher technical school and studied Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics.

He speaks fluent German and English.
